Tasty Race of the Week: Hannah Long gaps field in 4:45 1600!

Hannah Long is one of the nation's fastest returning girl milers and the Eureka (MO) senior sent out a strong early season message to the rest of the country at the Festus Early Bird Invitational this past Saturday. The Stanford University recruit and 3-time Foot Locker finalist set a personal best time in the 1600 meter run with a US #1 performance of 4:45.67. Long has run slightly faster in the full mile at 4:44, but that came at the end of outdoor season last year in a 4th place finish against the nation's best in adidas Dream Mile. More impressive than her Dream Mile performance was Long running her 4:45 on Saturday with no competition as she ended winning by a whopping margin of 20 seconds (also doubled back to win 800 in 2:11) for MileSplit's National Tasty Race of the Week!
