Q&A With Coach Bridges

How has training been going for your team? What is your current focus for training?

Training has been going good so far. Our main focus right now is shifting from summer mileage to getting race ready with a little more speed and tempo work.

Who have you been most impressed or surprised with their improvement and/or fitness from their summer training?

Junior, Alex Krieg and Senior, Cody Huhn are looking very good after a great summer of training.

Who are your team captains or leaders and what stands out about them as examples for the rest of their teammates?

The Boy's team leaders are seniors, Cody Huhn and Hunter Hennier, along with junior, Alex Krieg. These boys have done a great job of helping the younger runners learn what it takes to be successful.

What will be the biggest obstacle or challenge facing your team this season?

The biggest challenge for our teams this season will be staying healthy and to do a great job of helping the younger runners learn what it takes to be successful.

What will be the biggest reason why your team is successful this season?

Our summer training and hard work will pay off in November.

Kern's Notes:

All- State runner Hunter Henier along with Alex Krieg and Cody Huhn led a young Fatima squad to a fourth place finish in Class 2 Boys in Jefferson City in 2014. Pre-Season Rankings have Fatima improving to finish 3rd in 2015 behind Springfield Catholic and Herculaneum...http://mo.milesplit.com/articles/160146-top-25-ret... The Comets will have plenty of company with several other teams wanting to get on that Trophy Trailer come November. I think Fatima's proximity to Jefferson City and having 6 runners that ran in the State Meet in 2014 will allow the Comets to medal as a team again in 2015.
