Preseason All-Classes All-State Boy's Discus Throwers

This year returns a number of great discus throwers. When coaching I always tell my kids to "sling that UFO." Of course, this is all in good fun but with throwers on this list could cause a panic! The interesting thing about the throwing events it is truly one of the events that surprises every season. First, as athletes get older they typically get stronger each season being able to provide more power behind the implement. Additionally, the discus throw is an unusual release that takes a long time to master and with most schools only having one discus ring an athlete's repetitions take a long time to accumulate. Finally, the event is all about timing and it is not uncommon for really good athletes to foul out of the throwing sector in route to a state championship. Admittedly, all of these factors make the discus a difficult event to predict.
