When you have 30 kids in your school, it's hard to get 7 boys out to even field a team. Not only did Montrose do that in 2016, but they nearly put them on the podium with their 5th place finish. An incredible feat, this year, it may be more difficult as only 5 boys return. Drew Smith and Dakota Gay were 47th and 49th respectively last year, leading their team's charge, and return this year to hopefully make up even more ground. Smith returns with an 18:22 PR and Gay boasts an 18:58 best. Can Montrose retool and return to where they were last year? We shall see.
