Nation's Top 100m Runner Sha'Carri Richardson Signs to LSU

The top girls 100m sprinter in the class of 2018, Sha'Carri Richardson, is headed to Louisiana State University.

The Dallas Carter standout, who boasts wind-legal personal records of 11.28 in the 100m dash and 23.39 in the 200m dash, signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the Tigers on Wednesday morning before friends, family and fellow teammates at Dallas Carter (TX) High.

Richardson's accolades include three Texas state championships, an AAU Junior Olympic title, a third-place finish at the Prefontaine Classic in May and runner-up honors at the Brooks PR Invitational in 2016.

She also clocked a 23.18 200m in April, albeit with a wind reading of 4.6.

Richardson will look to help LSU win its first SEC title since 2012. She is the first member of the Tigers' 2018 recruiting class.
