Pre-Season Rankings: Class 5 3200m

Girls

8. Marti Heit - Park Hill South, SR

PR - 11:21.42

Heit is the fastest 3200 runner of the members of Park Hill South's state championship cross country team. Though teammate Emma Roth was the fastest of the cross country runners on the squad, she seems to be more of a middle distance runner than Heit. The Panther senior appears poised to push 11:00 this season after her first top 25 finish in November. She also boasts a 5:28 1600 personal best from 2016.

7. Madison Hulsey - Lee's Summit West, SO

PR - 11:19.08

Lee's Summit West burned up the Class 5 scene this season en route to the most dominant track season in state history. Hulsey was a strong contributor to this success throughout the season and was quietly the fastest freshman in the state in the 3200. This fall, she led the Titans to a 3rd place finish as a team and took 19th overall. She finished 13th at the state 3200 last year, but after an 18:53 5K personal best, look for Hulsey to push to contribute some serious points at state this season.
