New Balance Nationals Indoor Recap

This weekend in New York there were some very strong performances by Missourians at the world famous Armory. The New Balance National Indoor Meet is always loaded with these strong performances, and this year was no different. We'll recap the event athlete by athlete.

Victor Mugeche laid down a blistering 9:08.03 in the Boy's 2 Mile which was good enough for an 8th place finish. The Blue Springs Senior and MIZZOU commit just keeps getting faster and faster, and that 9:08.03 was equivalent to a 9:04.85 3200m according to MileSplit's converter. With over 2 months of practice before State and with the benefit of running on an outdoor track, sub 9 is very much in the realm of possibility for Victor this Spring.

No stranger to having monster performances, KC Lightfoot did not disappoint this weekend at the Armory. The Lee's Summit Senior and Baylor commit vaulted a PR of 17-09 which was good enough for the Silver Medal at NBNI. The sky is literally the limit for him this year, and it would seem its not a matter of if he'll clear 18 feet but when.
