Western Branch Sets SHR National Record

The team of Shadajah Ballard, Jazmine Tilmon, Adriana Shockley, and Na'Taja Ballard not only won their third national title of the weekend but they also set a new national record for the shuttle hurdle relay. Their time of 54.67 bested their 55.06 national record from last year's competition.

Though they destroyed the previous national record, it was far from a perfect race. Shadajah admits in her interview that she struck a hurdle and it affected her time. Aside from that and Na'Taja's form breaking down a slight bit on the homestretch it was a fairly textbook Branch performance.

Bullis deserves some mention as well with their national runner-up finish also under the previous national record. They were able to do that without their best hurdler, Masai Russell.

This record might not stand for long with all four of these girls returning next year.
