Thomas Shilgalis Displays His Summer Training Journal

Thomas Shilgalis runs himself to an IL#1 mark in the 800m at the St. Louis Festival of Miles

The rising Naperville Central senior has been like the Hawaiian active Kilauea Volcano for some time now. Dormant through much of the 2018 track season then bubbling and.... boom! Shilgalis unexpectedly dropped a state-leading and top 15 national time of 1:51.81 in the 800m. His momentum carried him to an All-American MILE medal at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championships.

As we head back to the harrier season this fall, Shilgalis will look to expand on an incomplete campaign in which he ran a sizzling 14:27 for three-miles at the Naperville Twilight Invitational. In that zenith race, he produced the top time in the state. The good times were not for long due to an injury that slowed the ascent. Shilgalis is now healthy and put together a progressively good summer to date.

ENJOY!
