As we inch closer to the beginning of the season, Mo.MileSplit.com has decided to power ranking all the teams in each class. We have leveraged our very powerful database to power rank these teams for you. Our team has chosen to double the potential points of a traditional virtual meet. When increasing the points, it gives you a clearer picture of the best overall programs, not just those who won the genetic lottery. These results do not include relays as those will change as a lot of teams are missing one athlete from the previous season.
In class 5 long time powerhouse looks to have an embarrassment of talent in a significant number of events. No one can come close if they stay healthy all season long and avoid catastrophic mistakes. Hazelwood Central is the best of the rest and will be led by former Alton, Illinois coach Asaki Siti. Hazelwood Central is by far the deepest team in the state in the sprints. If coach can get a few of those young ladies to run the hurdles, they might be able to keep the state meet from being a blowout. The next three are almost inseparable between Rock Bridge, Liberty, and Francis Howell. Traditionally, all three are distance schools. Rock Bridge gets the preseason nod for their strength in the jumps by multiple returning all-state medal contenders.
