Are we not including freshmen in our counts anymore, or is there something else going on here? All the enrollments for big schools appear to be 300-500 kids less than actually go to each school. Sean, Mshsaa voted to include 3 classes from this point on to figure out the break down of enrollments. The reason why the big schools showing 300-500 less due to the fact that is only 3 classes not 4.

Any idea what the logic is behind this? I can't see that it would change things a lot. Sean Nunn Raytown South

To go to only counting the lower 3 grades was on the 2017 spring ballot - Proposal #12 - and was passed 338-152. To once again go back to reclassifying every year was on the 2016 spring ballot - proposal 8a - and was passed 173-135. The decision to use a March date for enrollment data collection was on the 2017 questionnaire and was passed 351-41.s Major reasoning was that if a school was graduating a large group of seniors and a small group of incoming freshman, they would really be in the wrong class. Many states do classification with 3 grades counted. Kansas has done it for a long time. In reality, it probably effects only a couple of schools each year. For those of you keeping score at home, the 88-89 school year was when we started doing redistricting every other year. We did so then because that is when football went to a district round-robin format.
