Interview with Lafayette High School (Wildwood, MO) junior Alec Haines after his 4:11 1600-meters victory at the Missouri High School Class 3-4-5 State Track and Field Championships, Friday, May 29, in Jefferson City, MO. It was the first-ever victory for Haines in the 1600, and came at the perfect time. It gave the Lancers 10 team points and helped Lafayette take second behind Blue Springs in the team race. Haines also ran on the winning 4x800 squad and took third in the 3200-meters in 9:19 on Saturday.
