They did it again! At the start of the 2012 XC Season Taylor Werner the freshman from Ste Genevieve and Hannah Long the sophomore from Eureka met early in the season and staged an epic battle at Forest Park with Werner edging Long by blazing a 16:59 over 5000 meters.
Tuesday at the Festus Tiger Town Invitational the two met again in an early season meet, this time on the track for a battle at 3200 meters. Once again it way Werner coming out on top and both girls times place them among the best girls across the nation this season. Werener's 10:25.88 currently ranks 6th and Long's 10:27.49 ranks 9th in the 2013 Track & Field Season across the United States.
While these two will not race against each other at the state meet (Long - Class 4, Werner - Class 3) we hope to reunite them on the track at the 2013 MoMileSplit.com All-Star High School Mile at the Festival of Miles.
