Saturday: The race between CJ Jones and Amos Bartelsmeyer in the 800m didn’t disappoint with the pair running the two fastest times in the state. Amos ran a pair of 57’s to run 1:55.02.  Hazelwood Central’s Marcus Davis had a strong showing in the 800 crossing the line a second back from Amos (1:56.15). The other race we had our eye on – the boys 4x400m also brought a new state leader.  Hazelwood Central has excelled at Marion Freeman in this event for a while now and this year they lowered their season best time to 3:18.99.  They defeated Illinois top team, Cahokia, who was DQ’d for throwing the baton after losing by less than half of a second.
