Tuesday Top 10: Freshmen standouts

The season is young and their high school careers are just getting started but here are 10 members from the Class of 2019 that have caught our attention.

#1 ZIONN PEARSON - MICDS - #4 in Missouri in the 100 Hurdles, #10 in the Long Jump and #31 in the 300 hurdles is quite the start of her high school track career.

#2 WESTON WENDT - Carl Junction - A Long Jump of 22-7 is good enough for 3rd overall and he also leads all freshman with a triple jump of over 42 feet.

#3 MAKAYLA KELBY- Lee's Summit West - Her discuss toss of 144-2 ranks 4th overall in the state.

#4 KAITLYN LEWIS - Liberty - This freshman won the 200/400 double at Ron Ives and 2nd in the 100/400 at Rusty Hodge

#5 JANA SHAWVER - Lee's Summit West - Sub 220 in the 800 already puts her #7 in the state for this event.

#6 KC LIGHTFOOT - Lee's Summit - He's cleared 14 feet in the Pole Vault and is with a group of guys that are 5th overall in the state.

#7 GARRETT PARKER Jefferson City - Winner of the Capital City Relays 100 Meter Dash

#8 RYAN RIDDLE - Webb City - A 9:43 for 3200 meters

#9 EAN BUFFINGTON - Jackson Ean has a 4:34 1600 to go along with a 205/1003

#10 SLOANE MONTGOMERY - Nerinx Hall - A 220/519 is a promising start for Sloane who finished 26th in Class 4 this fall.
