Ezekiel Elliott Hurdles On Sunday Night Football

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott blew up the internet last night on Sunday Night Football when he hurdled Chicago Bears safety Chris Prosinski. Maybe Prosinski should've seen it coming. The Wyoming-born football player was the 2006 Wyoming State Champion in the 110H. While hurdling defenders has become more common in the NFL, there's a good reason why it appeared to come so naturally to Elliott.

Ezekiel Elliott was only the fourth running back to be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft in the past decade. On top of his great career playing football for Ohio State, Elliott was a huge high school track star. Running for John Burroughs high school in Missouri, he earned state titles in the 100m, 110H(x2), 200m, and 300H.

If the name John Burroughs rings a bell, that's because it is the same high school that 14-year-old 800m world record holder Brandon Miller (1:51.23) will be competing at this fall.

He's not the first track star to have some fun playing professional football player. Longhorn grad and Olympic Trials competitor Marquise Goodwin celebrated an early-season touchdown with a long jump in the end zone.
