Meet Preview: Festus Early Bird

With the fourth week of official track and field season in the books, it is time to start look to the first meets coming down the pipe in two weeks. Every week we will preview upcoming meets as part of our coverage for this coming track and field season.

Format for the Festus Early Bird Meet

Typical of most large invitationals, there are two entries per event per team with the standard schedule. However, one of the things that separates this meet from others is the inclusion of a 4x1600m, DMR and 5k all run on Friday afternoon! Additionally, this is one of the rare opportunities for top athletes across different classes gets to compete against one another face to face. As expected the high level of competition leads to incredible results. Often the athletes won't reach these performances again until the peak phase of the state series.
