Fatima Girls Score 16 at Jim Marshall

A major storyline this season will be just how dominant this season proves to be for the Fatima Lady Comets. The very clear favorites in Class 2 were profiled as our #1 Preseason team in that classification and they showed everyone why at the Jim Marshall Invitational in Jefferson City on Saturday. Sure there were only 4 small schools teams with 5 scoring athletes and only 34 in that division, but just because their division was light on Saturday, the times made them the team champions overall, too. They were 2-3-5-9-18 overall (37 points), just ahead of Large Schools winner Helias Catholic. The Lady Comets were led, as usual, by the Haller sisters - Brianna and Kendall - our C2 #1 and #4, respectively. They were 2nd and 3rd overall in 20:19 and 20:30. Alyssa Stuemph, C2 #7, was their 3rd runner across under 21:00 - running 20:52. Katelyn Vanderfeltz (C2 #14) and sophomore Alexis Fischer rounded out the top 5 for Fatima, who only ran 6 on Varsity. Fatima is looking for its fifth straight state title and it appears that they haven't lost a step this offseason in pursuit of that goal.
