PR - 12:57.96 (2016)
Alden was 12:57 as a freshman in this event, but failed to go under 13:00 in 2017, even though her 2017 ended with a state trip instead of a 5th in Sectional 2 in 2016. She was 13:07.10 last year for 10th at the state meet, but had another solid cross country season to pick up her 3rd state meet medal in 3 tries. Alden will look to regain her sub-13:00 edge and push for her first state medal on the track.
7. Nicole Helm - Salisbury, SO
PR - 13:03.29
Helm turned in 10 times in the 3200 in her freshman campaign and improved by 70 seconds from the first one to the last. The last was a 13:03.29 for the dreaded 9th at the Class 1 3200m. She also took 10th in the 1600 and was not a part of the 2nd place 4x8, but she still has her fair share of hardware in her young career. Two medals in cross country, including a 6th this past fall, have Helm in a good place to start raking medals in the spring, starting with the 3200.
