8. Lauren Gerlemann - New Haven, SR
PR - 37-0.25
Gerlemann chucked a massive PR at the Union Relays, but has not thrown at the District meet since 2015. She hasn't because she was too busy tearing it up in the long jump, discus, triple jump, and 400. Gerlemann is an impressive multis athlete and could very well be even higher on this list if we were sure she was competing in the shot put this May. She has already made our top 8 list twice now, and you should continue to look for her name throughout our previews list.
7. Madison Matney - New Franklin, SR
PR - 36-1 (2016)
Matney was a 36-1 thrower in 2016, but was unable to throw over 35' last season. Because of her personal best and her experience at the state meet, though, Matney lands a spot on the 2018 list as she looks forward to landing on the podium this spring.
