6. Abigayle Vogel - Appleton City, SO
PR - 35-8.5
Only a sophomore, Abigayle Vogel made it to state in both the shot and disc last year, throwing an impressive 35-8.5 during the season before going 34-9 at Sectional 2 and 35-2 at state for 10th. Vogel looks like a solid bet to get into the top 8 this year as she returns with a top 6 mark in Class 1.
5. Carleig Jenkins - Wellington-Napoleon, JR
PR - 36-4 (2016)
Jenkins has competed in all 3 events throws over the last two years and qualified for state five times. She has 3 medals to her name already and two of those have come in the shot put. Her 36-4 in 2016 got her 6th in the shot and this past spring she grabbed the last medal with a 35-7.5 toss. Jenkins is now rather experienced in the postseason and she could compete for a spot even higher than 5th this May.
