4. Merrideth Spiers - Worth County, SO
PR - 37-1
Spiers chucked a huge 37-1 at Sectional 4, but she was unable to get out of the stacked Sectional. Only a freshman, she has set herself up well for not only a top 4 in the Sectional meet, but at the state meet. Luckily, 3 of the 4 girls ahead of her in Sectional 4 were seniors.
3. Hannah Mitchell - Paris, SR
PR - 36-6.5
Mitchell is a state championship contender even though the personal best may not be there just yet. She grabbed 6th last year, but also won District 2 and Sectional 1 with her 36-6.5. She was also 4th and 2nd in the discus in 2016 and '17 respectfully. Right now, we have her sitting 3rd, but could very well see her atop the podium this spring.
