Pre-Season Rankings: Class 3, 4, 5 Javelin

Class 5 Boys

8. Finn Giddings - Liberty North, SR

PR - 158-5

7. Brandon Wisdom - Timberland, SR

PR - 159-1

6. Kolby Heinerikson - Park Hill, SR

PR - 162-9

5. Braden Presser - Liberty North, SO

PR - 164-0

4. Derrick Boyce III - Pattonville, SR

PR - 168-8

3. Dakari Streeter - Pattonville, SR

PR - 169-1

Streeter is a prolific throws talent in the state and will be seriously racking up the points for Pattonville this May. Last spring, his 169-1 best earned him a fourth place medal, but we see him at least moving into the top three this spring and make a push for the top spot. It all seemed to come together for Streeter last year at the right time as he had a big breakthrough in this event down the stretch so we would not be surprised to see him continue that forward trajectory and challenge for jav gold.

2. Jordan Dueker - Troy-Buchanan, JR

PR - 175-4

Only a junior this season, Dueker still has a lot of room to grow. He has only thrown the jav over 160-0 twice, once at Class 5 Sectional 2 (his enormous personal best there earned him Sectional gold) and then again at the USATF Region 9 Championship (163-4.75). Dueker is close to our top ranked athlete, but his consistency makes him seem miles away at the moment. A 175-4 mark as a sophomore is nothing to sneeze at, though. In fact, it was the 23rd best mark among all Class of 2019 returners in the nation.

1. Logan Bell - Poplar Bluff, SR

PR - 180-7.25

After taking second at the state meet, Bell popped off the only 180+ throw of any of the Missourian returners in the entire state at the Great Southwest Classic. Bell is clearly the best javelin thrower in the state at the moment as his consistency places him well ahead of his opponents though they may be a little too close for comfort. Bell threw over 175-0 five times last season which is four more times than his next closest opponent. In fact, Dueker only cleared 160-0 one other time last spring, thus pushing Bell even further ahead in Class 5. He is currently the 66th best returner in the entire country.
