It only makes sense to start here, as for the second time in three weeks Makayla Kelby (Lee's Summit West) broke the State Record in Discus. She did so with a MONSTER throw of 170-9, which brought home the gold medal. She was also able to bring home the gold in Shot with a throw of 44-6.

Other notable finishes from the Girl's side was Abigail Green (Francis Howell Central) who finished 4th in discus with a season best 145-3, Kennedy Aurentz (Kickapoo) placed 2nd in Shot with a a 43-1.75, and Maddie Harris (Lee's Summit West) finished 3rd in Javelin with a throw of 139-4.


The top performance on the Boys side goes to Christian Turner (Grandview) who broke the 60ft barrier in Shot for the first time, throwing a State leading 61-9.75 which placed 3rd. He also placed 6th in Discus with a throw of 172-2. Briar Short (Webb City) also had a big throw in Javelin, throwing 180-8 and placing third. Daniel Parker (Blue Springs) also had a good showing in the Discus throwing 176-3 and placing 4th.
