Races to Watch:

200

The 200 is shaping up to be an exciting finish. Verlyn Johnson (Van-Far), Jacob Querry (Rich Hill), Reece Going (Calvary Lutheran), and Trace Thompson (Glasgow) all come in with season bests between 23.02 and 23.19. It'll be interesting to see who walks away with the State Title from that group.

800

The 800 looks like its going to be super close. Austin Pankau (Mound City), Keaton O'dell (Braymer), and Evan Smith (Chadwick) have all ran 2:02 this year, and Braeden Decker (Humansville) and Easton Sabala (Hermitage) have both ran 2:03. Really anyone one of those boys could end being the State Champion.

Long Jump

Long Jump looks to have three boys competing for the title. Peyton Jones (Pattonsburg) has the best mark of 21-5, and is closely followed by Josh Hodde (Van-Far) and Ryan Grein (Valle Catholic) who are at 21-4.5 and 21-0 respectively.

4x800m Relay

Here we'll have three teams squaring off for the State Title. Liberal has the fastest time coming in with an 8:34.05, while Lutheran (Kansas City) and New Haven are just behind at 8:35.16 and 8:37.92. That race will likely come down to that final straight of the anchor leg.

Athletes to Watch:

Easton Sabala (Hermitage)

Easton comes into the weekend ranked 1st in both the 1600 & 3200. He'll look to secure state titles in both after a 6th and 2nd place finish last year. He also comes in ranked 6th in the 800.

Josh Hodde (Van-Far)

Hodde comes into State with the fastest 110H and 300H time in Class 1. In addition to the hurdle races he is also ranked 2nd in the Long Jump. He'll try and earn himself three State Titles this weekend.
