Salute to Seniors 2: B. Fusco, R. Riddle, E. Catic

Brendan Fusco (Nixa)

Q: What was your most memorable race/moment?

A:My most memorable moment was placing second at the Class 5 State Meet with my 4x8 teammates while setting a school record.

Q: Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
A: I always had a friendly competition with my teammate and good friend Ryan Meadows which pushed us to be better runners. Team wise, Webb City and Ray-Pec always provided a challenge for my team.

Q: What will you miss the most?
A: I will miss all of my high school teammates of course, but I will also miss being able to compete in the state's highest classification and competing for the entire city of Nixa, as I transition to Division 3 running just for my school.

Q: What advice would you give to younger athletes?
A: I would tell younger athletes to not specialize in sports right away, but to try and be active year-round to stay in shape.

Q:What are your college plans?
A: I will be attending and running for Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, where I plan on majoring in international relations.

Q: Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?
A: I'd think to say a big thank you to all of my coaches for their role in developing me as a runner and as a person, my teammates for pushing me every single day, and to my family for supporting all of my endeavors on and off the course/track.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A: I'd like to thank MO Milesplit for all of the awesome coverage over my 4 years and for getting lots of people excited about our sport.

Q: What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?
A:I don't necessarily think this one is super funny, but in a XC race in 8th grade, I got tripped up and somehow broke my thumb doing it. I would up finishing the race, (with a sideways thumb) but my teammates still love to give me a hard time about it today and constantly ask me for a "thumbs up".
