Class 4 Sectionals Preview

Class 4 Sectional 3

Class 4 Sectional 3 will be contested at the very fast course at Inman Elementary in Nixa. The Boys race will feature Clayton Whitehead of Carthage who has the fastest time in Missouri this year with a 15:11. He's won each of his last four races and I think that will continue this weekend. The race will also feature All-Staters Colton Palmer (15:58) and Brady Bauder (16:08). The virtual meet gives Webb City a 54-78 advantage over Raymore-Peculiar for the team title, with Lee's Summit West third with 80 points, and West Plains forth with 97. However, I don't think this really paints a picture of what will happen. I think District 6 Champions Lee's Summit West will be the Champions, with Ray-Pec 2nd, West Plains 3rd, and Branson 4th.

I'm very interested in this Girls race on Saturday. Ginger Murnieks comes in with the fastest time this season with an 18:12. Alexis Barber is the next up with an 18:21. Murnieks has not lost in a 5K all season, and Barber has only lost once (and that was to her sister by 1 second) so something will have to give this week. Besides those two there is still the Ray-Pec three headed monster of Miranda Dick, Makenzie Stucker, and Marissa Dick in the field, along with Kaylee Hatley and Mia Harris of West Plains. The top three teams in Class 4 will face off for the team title with Lee's Summit West holding a 57-65 advantage over West Plains. Raymore-Peculiar is 3rd with 73, with Carl Junction (126) and Ozark (130) battling for that last state spot. I think the top 3 will hold their spots, but I think Ozark will edge out Carl Junction for the final state spot.
