Class 2 Boys

Sprints

The 100m looks to be a tight race this weekend. Caleb Lapsley (Clark County) and Jonah Roberts (Windsor) come in tied with season best of 11.07. Gavin Hutson (Kelly) and Sawyer Morrow (Penney) are really close as well with times of 11.2.

The 200m could also see a tight race. Blake Hays (Monroe City) enters the weekend with the top time of 22.53, but Brock Wood (South Shelby) is right there with him at 22.58. I also wouldn't count out Malik Harris (Cleveland NJROTC) who has ran 22.67 this season.

The 400m will be a two man race. Verlyn Johnson (Van-Far) has the fastest time with a 49.83, but Blake Hays (Monroe City) is going to be right there with him and has season best of 50.11.

Distance

Max Davies (West Platte) will attempt the distance quadruple this weekend. Along with being on West Platte's top ranked 4x800, he also is ranked 2nd in the 800m with a 2:03. behind Nathan Babcock (Principia) who has ran 2:02. In the 1600 he has a time of 4:36.75, just behind Bramwell Havi (Principia) and in front of Dalton Gleeson (Hermann) who have ran 4:36.07 and 4:36.82 respectively. He comes in ranked third in the 3200m with a 10:08, behind Dalton Gleeson (Hermann) and Nathan Frazee (Clark County) with a 10:03 and 10:04 respectively.

Jumps

Deablo McGee (Cleveland NJROTC) will look to keep up tradition of great Cleveland jumpers with three gold jumping medals this weekend. He's ranked first in both long and triple jump with jumps of 22-10 and 45-10.5. He also is ranked second in high jump behind Tanner Hillenburg (Pleasant Hope) who comes in with a 6-5 season best to McGee's 6-4 season best. It'll be fun to watch and see if McGee can pull off a big performance this weekend.

Throws

Shot Put looks to be a four man battle this weekend. Christopher Roberts (Fayette) enters the weekend with the top mark of 51-6.5. He's followed closely by Ryan Holocker (Sarcoxie) with a 51-1, Michael Jordan (Lafayette County) 50-7, and Kyle Golbricht (Clark County) with a 50-5.75.

In Discus it looks like Trevor Schorr (Clark County) will be the favorite, as he enters with nearly a ten foot lead in the rankings with a throw of 162-1.

Javelin looks to be really competitive, with four throwers between 159-7 and 165-11. Jeremy Williams (Brookfield) leads the way with a throw of 165-11 followed closely by Tye Huff (Greenville) who has a season best of 164-0.

Team Scores

The virtual meet tells us we are going to have no idea who is getting a trophy, let alone wins the meet, until the 4x400m final on Saturday. There are 6 teams within 10 points of each other, with Lathrop holding the edge in the virtual meet with 49 points. They are followed by Monroe City with 45.5, Clark County with 44, Hayti with 44, Cleveland NJROTC with 39, and West Platte with 39.
