Thousands of the top youth athletes in the country have made their way to Aggie Stadium in Greensboro, NC for the 2019 AAU Junior Olympic Games. As athletes compete, keep up-to-date with our complied list of meet information, performance notes, and fun facts.

Records

Each year, elite athletes break numerous records at the AAU Olympics Games. The 2005 event in New Orleans, LA tops the list for most records surpassed at the event with 63. Other years that rank highly are 2006 in Norfolk, VA (49) and 2012 in Houston, TX (47). This year in Greensboro, athletes will look to break more than the 17 records broken at last year's event in Des Moines, IA.

  • Jaela Higgs of Pompano Beach, FL was the first athlete to register for the AAU Junior Olympics, entering the 17-18yo 100m and 400m.
  • Most of the officials working the meet come from the state of Texas (25). Other states producing the most officials include Florida (44) and Michigan (22).
  • With over 13,000 athletes registered for the event, many share common last names. Most common are Williams (249), Brown (215), Smith (203), Jones (145) and Johnson (143).
