Class 3's Sophomores to Watch in 2019

Lilian Jackson (St. Charles West)

After a 5th place finish at the State Meet in her freshman campaign, Jackson will look to finish towards the top of the podium again in 2019. She build on her All-State cross country performance with another successful season in the Spring. She earned another state medal in track, with a 7th place finish in the Class 3 3200m.

Olivia Gilliam (Lawson)

Gilliam had a great freshman season a year ago, and was an All-State performer with her 6th place finish at the State Meet. She picked up two more state medals in the Spring with a 3rd place finish in the Class 3 800m, and an 8th place finish in the 1600m.

Alexa Lamb (Helias Catholic)

After a solid first year of cross country, Lamb will look to build on that season here in 2019. She placed 11th at the State Meet last year to earn a state medal. In addition to that she also had one of the fastest times among freshman last season with a 19:46 at the District 5 Meet.

Kelton Sorrell (East Newton)

Following the path of his older sisters, Sorrell had a great freshman running campaign. He just missed out on an All-State finish with a 27th place finish last year at Oak Hills. In track he was a member of East Newton's State Championship 4x800m team, and will look to bring that success over to cross country this Fall as East Newton looks primed to compete for a State Trophy at Gans Creek.

Cale Thiessen (Bolivar)

Thiessen had a really good cross country season last Fall, and was the second freshman to cross the finish line at State. He finished in 36th place, and will look to build on that performance this year and possibly climb onto the podium in November.
