What To Watch
District 1 goes lies deep in southeast/south-central Missouri as it picks up several teams who used to reside in Districts 3 and 5. As a result, the district will be ruled by the Big Springs/White River Conference.
Carson McNail has been the biggest name in the area so far and is looking to pull in his first career state medal after two years of qualifying comfortably, but missing out at state. He enters as the favorite to secure his first career district title. Couch and Winona are not safe picks for the two qualifying spots on the boys side as Delta and Van Buren are looming very closely.
Van Buren's girls are undefeated this season and should roll to victory in District 1. Led by sophomores Katie Griffin and Addison Lewis, the Lady Bulldogs could score under 20 points en route to the victory, which would give us reason to pick them as a podium contender in two weeks. Koshkonong's Lynsey Wiggs is looking to crash the party, though. She has the best average time this season of anyone even though she's lost head-to-head to both girls.
