Missouri State XC Championships Recap

Class 1 Girls

The 2019 Class 1 Girls race looked an awful like the 2018 version. Defending Champion Riley Arnold (Blue Eye) led the race from start to finish to repeat as State Champion with a time of 18:53. Her sister Avery Arnold (Blue Eye) took second as she did last year with a time of 19:17, and Delaney Straus (Marion County) placed third for the second straight season with a new PR of 19:41.

Last year's Runner Up, Blue Eye was expected to win the title heading into the meet, and they came through with a great performance. With a 1-2-4 finish among those runners on qualifying teams, and all five scorers in the top 26, they secured the State Championship with a low score of 56. This is their first ever State Title and their second State Trophy. North Platte finished second with 84 points, Lutheran (Kansas City) was third with 109, and Van Buren just held off St. Joseph Christian 116-124 to earn the fourth place trophy.
