Name: Alex Murray

Q: What does your training look like right now given the current situation?
A: My Coach has been sending the team workouts to do every day, and myself and a teammate have been going to Parkway West's Track to run.

A: I'm currently working more hours at my job, and spending more time with family.
Q: What was your most memorable race/moment?
A: I finally broke 5 minutes in the mile last month at the second Mizzou indoor meet. Moving up throughout the race, I felt like I had so much energy.
Q: What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?
A: a duck decided to make a nest on our track!! My coach would always go over to the nest and ask the duck what workout we were supposed to do that day.
Q: Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?
A: Probably the MCC conference schools, but also my team, we all in a way competed against each other, which made us all get better.

A: I have nothing I would change. Everything happened for the right reasons.

A:
Q: What will you miss the most?
A: Going to miss my teammates, coaches, the laughter and fun we had.
Q: What advice would you give to younger athletes?
A: Train year round. It's extremely hard to have success and to not get injured if you don't train year round for XC/Track.
Q: What kind of an impact has your coach had on you and your team?
A: I wouldn't have had the success I have had without my 2 coaches. Both have been a huge mentor to me on and off the course.
Q: What are your college plans?
A: I will be continuing my running career at Rockhurst University in KC! I plan to study business administration.
Q: Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?
A: Coaches, mentors, teammates, family, and most importantly, God.
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A: Any hs freshman who thinks they can't be successful if they run an average of 25 minutes in XC should look at my running career. It takes hard work, but hard work beats talent. Anyone can get there regardless of talent.
