The Senior Girls to Watch this Cross Country Season

Today we are taking a look at some senior girls to be on the look out for this upcoming cross country season.

The top returning senior from last season's state meets at Gans Creek is Pattonville's Lucy Ndungu. She placed seventh last year in the Class 4 State Meet, and will surely be in gunning for a top five finish this season in the newly minted Class 5. She also holds the fastest returning time for a senior, with an 18:42 which is also the tenth fastest overall returning time in Missouri.

Another couple of seniors, Olivia Littleton (Smithville) and Mia Reed (Washington), come in with the third and fourth fastest returning times for seniors with an 18:45 and an 18:53 respectively. These two are likely to compete for the Class 4 State Title in the Fall.

Other seniors to look out for this year include 2017 & 2018 Class 3 State Champion Kylie Goldfarb (John Burroughs) who was fourth in Class 3 last year and had a season best of 18:54. Macy Schelp (Lutheran South) will look to compete with her in Class 3 this year and was tenth in Class 3 and holds a PR of 18:44. Francis Howell's Sarah Russom rounds out the list of sub 18 seniors with a time of 18:56 that earned her a twentieth place finish in the Class 4 State Meet, and she has the ninth fastest returning time in Class 5.
