The Class 2 Girls 2020 Season Preview

The Individual Title Race

It only makes sense that the favorite to win this year's Class 2 state title is the person who won it last year. Alex Sharp (Brookfield) is the reigning champion of Class 2, and she'll look to repeat as champion this season. Her PR from that winning performance at Gans Creek of 19:07, stands as the fastest returning time in Class 2 by a significant margin. She'll look to go sub 19 this season in route to retaining her crown.

She isn't the only state champ in the field however, as Mercedes Schroer (Christian) won the Class 3 title in 2018. Schroer finished second to Sharp last year, and hold the third fastest returning time in Class 2 with a 19:33. She holds a PR though of 19:08, and could bounce back to give Sharp a title challenge this fall.

Hermann as the edge in the virtual meet heading into the season and returns last year's third place finisher Morgan Miller. St. Pius X (Festus) returns each of their six fastest runners from last year where they placed tenth in Class 2.
