MSHSAA Moving to Four Districts Per Class for Cross Country

The Missouri State High School Activities Association has released the rule changes for the 2021 Missouri High School Cross Country season.

The largest change is to the state series. The number of districts for each of the five classes has been reduced from eight districts to four starting this year. In these four districts, four teams will qualify to the state meet with thirty individuals qualifying regardless of team placement. Last year two teams from each district and fifteen individuals advanced.

There will be eight district sites with districts Classes 1, 2, and 3 sharing a site (Class 1 District 1, Class 2 District 1, Class 3 District 1 all being on the same course), and Class 4 and 5 sharing a site.

The Class 4 and 5 State Championship will be on Friday, November 5th, and Class 1, 2, and 3 will be on Saturday, November 6th. Both meets will be conducted at Gans Creek Championship Cross Country Course in Columbia.
