POLL: Boys Performer of the Week (3/23-3/28)

The 2026 Missouri Track and Field Season is upon us and stellar performances are already flooding our rankings database. With a full slate of meets from Monday through Saturday, the true Week 1's results have left us expecting this to be one of the best seasons of track and field we have ever seen.

Each Monday this season, we will be running a poll with five candidates for Performer of the Week that was, highlighting five athletes from around the state who did something amazing in the last seven days. Vote for who you think deserves the honor!

Polls open at 7:00am on Monday and remain open until 5:00pm on Friday. The athlete who wins will move to our end-of-the-season "Performer of the Year" poll and will not be nominated again for the weekly poll for the rest of the season. Athletes who were nominated and do not win will not be eligible to be nominated for one full week.

Congratulations to our recent poll winners:

Here are this week's nominees:

Jackson Miller - SLUH

As we mentioned yesterday, Miller made history with the eighth fastest 3200 mark in state history at the McCullough-Douglass Invitational, running 8:56.57. This is also US #5 at the moment. He doubled back to run 1:53.96, tops among half-milers in the state so far.

Gage Hale - Logan-Rogersville

Gage Hale turned in huge personal bests at the Marshfield Invitational of 21.90 in the 200 and, even more notably, 48.02 in the 400. The 400 mark is MO No. 2 overall currently, tops in Class 4, three seconds better than any other sophomore in the state, and ninth all-time among Missouri sophomores.

Burke Schwentker - Blue Springs South

Burke Schwentker had a successful Saturday, coming east to pick up the victory in the 1600 at the McCullough-Douglass Invitational and a silver medal in the 800. He ran a MO No. 2 4:20.63 in the 1600 and MO No. 2 1:55.47.

Doak Wyatt - Santa Fe

Doak Wyatt is having quite the breakout sophomore season at Santa Fe High School. Coming into the season with a 1.80m (5-11) personal best in the High Jump, Wyatt has already cleared 2 meters twice: 2.03m last weekend and 2.06m (6-9.25) at Thursday's Carrollton Early Bird. Wyatt is easily the top Class 1 high jumper at the moment and is tied for fourth all-time among sophomores in state history.

Paul Taylor - Ste. Genevieve

Taylor has kicked off his senior season with two strong shot put performances. This week, he picked up victories at the North County Raider Relays and McCullough-Douglass Invitational with 18.60m and 17.76m marks, respectively. The 18.60m (61-0.25) season best is tops in the entire state so far.
