State Javelin, 4x2 Records Shattered at PSU, Rusty Hodge

We have already written at length about the stable of sprint stars in the Lee's Summit West program at the moment, but little did we expect that on April 3rd, the Titans would obliterate the State record in the 4x200m Relay with a US No. 7 mark of 1:24.56.

The team of DeMoreay Franklin, Chris Harris, Jacob Taylor-Brown, and Harrison Perkins shocked onlookers at the Rusty Hodge Invitational at Blue Springs South, winning by nearly four seconds over a Lee's Summit North squad who posted an impressive 1:28.40 mark in their own right. The Titans broke the previous record held by Rock Bridge from the 2022 Class 5 District 4 meet. They are now only the second Missouri team to ever break 1:25 and are currently one of only 4 teams in the top 30 who are not from Texas.

Across the border, Adrian's Bryson Jacobs had a massive day at the Jock's Nitch/PSU Gorilla Relays. Jacobs torched the former US No. 1 mark with a 68.78m (225-8) personal best. The previous best mark in the nation was 216-0. He also broke his own State record of 67.13m (220-3) from last year's Nike Outdoor Nationals and is already trending toward the national record of 75.21m (246-9).

We are not even finished with the first weekend of April and are already seeing historic marks across the state. The 2026 season is shaping up to be quite possibly the best season we have ever seen.
