Eureka Girls

Eureka is headed by arguably the best runner in the state, Hannah Long.  However, they have depth behind a solid number one runner. Angie Sumner ran 5:10 this past year and finished in 11th at the state meet. She also is coming off a 19:05 at the XC Kick-Off, 50 seconds better than her PR. Another runner, Megan Cunningham ran an 11:21 for 3200m this spring. These three with the adition of Rachel Yergensen, an 11:40 3200m runner, will make up a solid team.  Based off of track times, this is the best team on paper. If they can carry their success from this spring into the fall they should be one of the best teams in the state. 

Coach Fischer Says...

"Team looks to be so far so good. We are excited to be heading into a fresh new season in xc and had a good summer of solid training. The girls are super excited so that is a plus with most returning."

"We will be going to the Fleet Feet, Forest Park XC Festival, Parkway Central Inv, Hancock, Jorgensen, and maybe an out of town meet, however we are not going to Southern Stampede this year."

"Goals are same as everyones…take one week at a time, stay healthy and happy, compete, bring home some hardware. When you gain success through each of those the big picture falls into place."
