With the dust from this past weekend's State meet finally starting to settle, the analysis continues to pour in.

We pulled the results from each race and scored them by district in Classes 1-3 and Sectionals in Class 4. The strongest pieces of data from this analysis mostly showed what we already knew about juggernauts in each class.

The boys in Class 4, Sectional 1 were at the top led by Christian Baker's individual victory. They took 8 of the top 25 spots in the race with Harrison Brown (6), Lucas Rackers (7), Michael Nicholson (11), Mason Walters (12), Charlie Teeter (23), Noah Scott (24), and Patrick Hetlage (25) all helping out the cause. They finished with 37 points, 12 points ahead of Sectional 3 who was led by top 10 finishes from Clayton Whitehead (2), Jimmy Dietrich (8), Brady Bauder (9), and Keifer Dooley (10).

On the girls side, Sectional 3 dominated, just as we suspected. Led by three of the top ranked teams in the state in Lee's Summit West, Raymore-Peculiar, and West Plains, Sectional 3 brought the noise on Saturday. Ginger Murnieks's individual win was the key, along with top 25 finishes from Marissa Dick (5), Miranda Dick (6), Alexis Barber (7), Madison Hulsey (11), Brocklyn Barber (18), and Mia Harris (21). Sectional 4 was second led by Tessa Valdivia and Madelynn Hill's 2-3 finish. They sat 16 points behind Sectional 3 and Sectional 1 sat another 6 points behind them. Sectionals 1-3 put their entire top 7 ahead of Sectional 2's number 2.

In Class 3, it was District 1. The boys had 5 of the top 10 finishers and 7 of the top 21. Max McDaniel and Blake Morris went 1-2 with Jonathon Coffman and Simon Ogle going 6-7 and Alec Whitener finishing 10th. They doubled up District 6 who scored 53 points and were led by top 10 finishes from Caleb Pyle (5), Jay Strausbaugh (8), and Peter Bowling (9). The District 1 girls squeaked out the victory even though they only had one girl placing in the top 10 - Nautica Stricklin (10). But with Kayla Vogelsang (16), Esperanza Zalite (19), Emma Kettler (20), Allison Faerber (21), and Lillie Kaempfe (22) all finishing in the top 25 as well, they were able to secure the victory over District 3.

Class 2, on the girls side, was absolutely dominated by Districts 3 and 4. Both districts combined to take the top 8 spots on Saturday. District 3 actually snuck ahead of District 4 with Kate Klott, Grace Buschling, and Kaleigh Moore going 2-3-4 to secure the win. Kendall Haller got her district a 1-spot, but it wasn't enough, even though Allie Gibbs, Alexis Fischer, and Morgan Miller all finished 6-7-8. It was a tight race on the boys side with Districts 7, 2, and 4 finishing 1-2-3 and only 10 points separating them. District 7 won with 57 points led by Daelen Ackley (4) and Bryson Coulter (6). They also had top 20 finishes from Tyler Adams (11), Samuel Wilhelm (17), and Zachery Holt (19). District 2 was front-loaded with Malik Stewart grabbing his second runner-up finish and the Lutheran North duo of Isaac Stout and Secondo Kaka finishing 7th and 10th and Mark Hutchinson taking 13th. District 4 benefited from strong finishes from Dawson Woehr (8), Lucas Laux (9), and Joseph Rethemeyer (12) as Fatima and New Haven had strong showings. But it wasn't enough to overcome Districts 7 and 2.

In Class 1, District 8 continued to dominate in the girls race like they have in recent years. Ashley Riley led the way in 4th and Sophia Rush, Anna Carter, and Malayna Briner went 7-8-9 to put 4 in the top 10. Emma Derr and Audrey Maggart made it 7 in the top 13 with 12th and 13th place finishes. But District 4 wasn't too far behind with help from Riley Arnold and Avery Arnold going 1-2 and their teammate Braylynn Siercks finishing 11th. The boys race was dominated by District 5 as they finished 50 points ahead of District 4. Chase Ratliff led the way with his victory and Dalton Hendrix (5), Codey Shuler (8), Hunter Hinds (12), and Noah Ruthledge (13) all padded the win with top 15 finishes.
