Meet Information
De Soto Junior High Open Track and Field Meet
Date: Tuesday March 19th , 2019
Site: J.C. Culwell Stadium @ De Soto High School
Entry Fees: None Time: Field Events start at 3:45 and running events at 4:15pm.
A brief coaches meeting will begin at 3:30pm in the track shed located at the northeast corner of the track (set opening heights). The meeting will end promptly at 3:30 pm.
Awards/Scoring: No score will be kept and no medals will be awarded.
Surface: 8 Lane rubberized track. We allow 3/16 and below on the track and runways. NO TAPE on the track or runways! Use chalk or tennis balls for
Seeding: Pre-assigned lanes will be given to each team (lanes will rotate per event). Remaining runners maybe used to fill in lanes at the end of the heats for each event.
Each school will time their own athletes.
Some high school student-athletes will be available to help time if needed.
Field Events: Shot put, Discus, Long Jump and Triple Jump will have 4 attempts. These distances need to be measured by a high school student-athlete and not recorded.
The Long and Triple jump will operate cafeteria style and will be open to either genders to jump on either or both until 6:30.
Student volunteers will be in each area to assist as needed and tools will be furnished (tapes, rakes, etc).
Pole Vault and High Jump will receive 3 attempts per height and will operate as if in a normal track meet (can move bar down if absolutely needed).
Miscellaneous: Bathrooms available; however, we DO NOT have locker rooms available for athletes.
There will be a concession stand available.
There will be an area for putting up tents on the practice field west of the stadium.
The turf field will be used as a warm up area. No gum, sunflower seeds, or food is allowed on the turf. Please inform you athletes of this rule.
A meal ticket will be issued to coaches
Bus Parking: Lot near the tennis courts at the east end of the Stadium and also on the Junior High faculty lot located at top of hill. St. Louis Street will also be available.
Medical issues: A trainer maybe be present at the event
Entries: Unlimited. Compete entries on Mo Mile with no seed times. All events will be seeded randomly.
Each team will have unlimited entries in all open running and field events and two entries per gender in each relay event.
Students will need to report on third call to running events if involved in field events.

Long Jump and Triple Jump will be an open cafeteria style and will close at 6:00.
