Preview
12 seniors competed in the discus last year leaving only three people in the field that competed in the event last year. These three are runner up John Karsten, Gunnar Allison, and Trey Koth. Karsten took second last year with a throw of 157-05. Karsten has improved his personal best to 163-2.5 this year, but he hasn't been the only one to take steps forward. Gunnar Allison of Logan-Rogersville leads Class 3 this year with a 173-9. The next best mark is 169-1 from Nathaniel Cummings, a mark that Allison has topped two other times this year. Another person to watch out for is Pleasant Hill sophomore Logan Blomquist who comes into State the top seed after his 164-10 personal best at Sectionals.
