Gabe Fendel Runs 15:05 At Riverview Health Invitational
Hamilton Southeastern High School's Gabe Fendel was back at it this weekend for his seventh race of the 2017 cross country season. This weekend Flo50 No. 4-ranked Fendel raced at the Riverview Health Invitational, earning another win by running 15:05.88 his fastest 5K time of the season.
Coming in a close second was Indianapolis Cathedral High School junior Cole Hocker. Hocker finished the course running 15:13.29. Rounding out the top three was Quinn Gallagher from Guerin Catholic School. Gallagher ran 15:42.12 to claim third.
The team battle was won by the Indianapolis Cathedral High School boys who scored 66 points finishing
second, sixth, 12th, 22nd, and 24th.
In the girls field, Dekalb (Indiana) High's Tyler Schwartz continued her strong run of results, winning the meet in a season PB of 17:19.11, which pushed her up to a U.S. No. 6 time.
Schwartz, who jumped into the Flo50 top 25 recently at No. 25, came back two weeks after last performance and cut 15 seconds off her season best from September 2, when she she ran 17:34.90 to win the Marion Invitational.
This marked Schwartz's third straight win.
