Many of the State's Best Boys compete at 50th Hillcrest Inv


The 2nd-place MO#2 8:04 4x800 finish by Waynesville wasn't the only long sprints success for the Tigers at the meet. Waynesville won the 4x400 in 3:27.65 with a foursome of Faheem Mujahid, Antwon Fowler, Rayshaun Fowler, and Averial Williams.

The Tigers 4x200 squad took 2nd. Junior Tyrell Phinn won the 800, leading almost from the gun and finishing in 1:57.47. Carthage senior Miguel Solano was 2nd in 1:58.00.

Marshfield senior Bryant Bull wasn't happy with his long jump performance, but followed with a 4th place javelin finish (46.83m/153-7''), 6th place in the 400 (52.02 PR), and won the triple jump with a PR of 13.91m/45-7.75''. The latter was the MO#5 mark and #2 in Class 4 in the state. 


Hillcrest High School senior Tracen Tate was 2nd in the discus with a 49.30m/161-9'' toss, which puts him 4th in Class 4 and 13th in the state for the season, as of Tuesday night.

Sedalia Smith-Cotton senior Derek Grubb captured both hurdles crowns. He won the 110 hurdles in 15.48 before running 40.57 for the 300-meter hurdles.
