Preview
While Savannah Beaver pulled off the victory last year, it’ll be a tough one to defend this year. Sara Lin of Gallatin looks to take the top spot after a third place a year ago. She clocked in at 2:21 at districts – the best time in Class 2 by nearly two seconds. Beaver, who won this event in 2:18 a year ago, ran a season best 2:23 to win her sectional. Also in the mix is Sophie Angell. Angell is a leg on both Lutheran’s 4x4 and 4x8. Both squads have a chance for victory but adding an open title would be a nice touch for the junior. Angell also has one of the fastest 400 times in the state, 60.52.
