Preview
Last year Tyler Rush was second. He was second in cross, second in the 1600, second in the 3200. This year Rush has been a winner – winning state cross in the fall. He comes in with great chances to win both the 1600 and 3200 this year. To win he will have to beat Herky’s Drake Smelser. His teammate, Ryan Jackson, won this event last year. With Kaitlyn Fischer likely to win the girls side Smesler is hoping for a Herculaneum sweep in this event again. Both come in having run 9:42 this season. Also under ten this year is Spencer Hudson and Thomas Chabrecek. Hudson was fourth a year ago, four places ahead of Smesler.
