Preview
Aaron Mallet, who won the 110’s last year put up a good fight in the 300 hurdles, but came up just short. Jehu Chesson, who ran the fifth fastest time in state history in 2011 edged Mallet by nine one hundredths of a second in 2012. Mallet has looked incredibly smooth all year, winning every hurdle race he has entered this year. He blazed a 37.72 early in the season which remains his best heading into state. Other top competitors include Jared Michel and Dondrell Hardiman. Michel, a senior from Marquette, comes in a bit over half a second behind Mallet with a season best of 39.64. Hardiman took the sectional crown in Kansas City running a personal best 38.57.
