Three All-State returns headline the field. 5th a year ago, Landon Bartel comes in with the best mark, 6-8. He set this back in March at the Fayette Relays and did it again at Sectionals. The other two are Harvey Kendall and Shane Williams. Kendall plays a huge role in Grandview’s attempt at the three-peat as they have won two team titles in a row. He is among the best in a number of events, including this one. The cleared 6-7 at Sectional 4 to take the win. The top returner based off place, Shane Williams, was third in this event in 2012 clearing 6-6. He cleared the same height in early April but has not done that since. He was second behind Bartel at Sectional 3, three inches back from the Southern Boone County junior.
