Last year Cardinal Ritter set a Class 3 record, defeating Jennings and running 3:17.24 in the finals. They returned three of four guys from that team including Charles Jones. We can’t say enough about this guy. He set two Class 3 records as he ran 1:49.96 to beat the 25 year old Class 3 Record last year. He very well might have won the open 400, but with the 800 shortly after he sticks to just the open 800. He is rumored to have split 47 this past weekend at Sectionals where his team ran 3:19.74. Also back from last year is Jennings. They lost three of their legs, including 400m champ Alfred Larry. Sikeston, 14th a year ago, has improved greatly as they come into state with the third best time in the state. It does help to return three of the same legs from the squad last year.
