Preview
The Kimberlin Simon, Shaelyn Grant dual has been going on all year, this time it will just most likely decide a state title. Simon and Grant are only separated by five one hundreths of a second. Simon, the top ranked hurdler in the state, has run 14.33 while Grant has run 14.38. The last week has seen Simon and Grant both win once in this race with Simon winning at sectionals. After those two there are a number of other runners who all could steal the show from the McCluer and McCluer North stars. Mallory Short was second just a year ago, running 14.67 at the state meet. Danyell Kates, fourth in Class 3 in 2012, comes in ranked third this year in Class 4. Morgan Smith is coming off an excellent two weeks – running 14.83 and districts and 14.93 at sectionals.
